About the WCA
HOROLOGY: The Study of Time
The Watch and Clockmakers of Australia Inc. is committed to promoting the horological trade, the ongoing education of its members & the elimination of restrictive practices regarding the supply of spare parts for watches in Australia.
To provide the training and support necessary to ensure members maintain a competitive edge through the maintenance and development of the knowledge and technical skills required to service and restore mechanical & electronic clocks and watches.
The Watch and Clockmakers of Australia Inc. has @ 200 members throughout Australia.
Regular national & branch meetings are conducted in state capital cities & some regional centres.
The WCA publishes “The Watchmaker” magazine six times per year.
The WCA provides a link between it members, manufacturers, their agents & other industry associations throughout the world. Local affiliations include the Australian Jewellers Association (AJA), Sydney Clockmakers Society, the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) & the Powerhouse Museum (Sydney).
Established Service Standards provide members with guidance on acceptable standards of workmanship & customer service.
The Service Standards also provide information to customers on the detail of service procedures.

- Recommendations to assist customers to find a local repairer with the appropriate expertise for their particular timepiece.
- Appraisals and technical advice on unusual or specialist timepieces.
- Service Standards for customer protection and advice.
- 12 month warranty on major service work undertaken, supported by the WCA.
